I am predominantly a self-taught artist with classroom direction from professional artists on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and in Albuquerque, New Mexico - most notably Ann Hart Marquis and Janet Bothne. I have shown in juried shows in both locales. My studies are ongoing.
Abstract acrylic painting is my primary style and medium. I do sometimes compose mixed-media pieces using collage materials and I began my artistic career in watercolor. I spent decades in Broadcasting where sound editing was my medium of choice. In a strange way, it set the stage for work with color and texture. Now I simply see sound and hear color, odd though that may be. All work in my gallery is unframed on gallery-wrapped canvas unless otherwise noted. Prices and availability are indicated
Art is a conversation. Color can be broken thoughts, remarkable interruptions and random wanderings all of which we traverse together through a landscape of movement and nearly irretrievable memories. Sometimes I know where we are going and sometimes I do not. A place can catch my eye. Or a feeling. Often both. And just at the edge of what I want to tell you, light refracts and I am again mesmerized by the tide or a tree or a field. You are never far and we talk together in the tones of the places we have gone.
